H.E.Garys is a simple and devoted to techno music guy from St. Petersburg, just like all of us. He started making beats (withought mentioning his successful DJ-career) somewhere in the middle of the noughties on his home computer and even released a CD - a compilation of his tracks. And now, finally he deserved to appear on Russian Techno. 'Cold-Blooded Calculations' EP consists of 4 elements, conjointed with each other into one solid piece, with the grains of minimal, classic and a slight odor of experimental techno. If you remember, each volume was mixed in a certain way. Volume 1 was mixed like it was someone listening to the radio. Volume 2 was mixed like it was a day at school. Now for Volume 3, mixed in two whole discs, it gives the impression that you are at a two hour live show of non-stop Daft Punk remixes (mixed by DJ Muziek). Each remix was created by multiple Daft Punk fans that are members on the #1 unofficial fan site called TheDaftClub.com. The debute of Argentinean Techno and Minimal producer Bruno Ivo Vasc Treri, better known in the scene as B.I.B.
In this occasion we go back to the roots of Sound & Motion: A two side release. The A Side is a Dub Techno track titled “Brain Damage”, the reason of the release title. It’s a track with a killer bass, full of effects and percussions, adding also the occasional use of pitched sticks, glitches and dark vocals. Having multiple breakdowns and not giving us a typical structure, this track is perfect for the dance floor and will make everyone to shake their hands in the air and ending with a severe head trauma due to the headbanging.
The B Side shows us the other way of B.I.B., with “O’Clock”. This track leaves behind the Techno feeling to give us a minimalistic song, but always keeping the signature of Bruno’s work. Using bongos and different organic percussions in contrast to dark synths, using sticks, panned hats and a subtle but lovely bassline, this one will definitely make you lose perception of time and enjoy this track as the end of a short but perfect journey through B.I.B.’s mind.

Basic_sounds is a netlabel that exists to promote new emerging electronic artists experimenting within the realms of techno, house, ambient, minimal and dub.

I just found this great labal yestarday and to my suprise the latest release is from no other than Jesse Somfay. Jesse is well known for his unique breed of melodic ambient techno. One of his core achievements is his 2009 release on Archipel, “A Catch In The Voice,” which was highly regarded by Resident Advisor. With his latest basic_sounds release, “Sol,” he branches off into a number of new aural and visual directions.

Somfay takes inspiration from the very heart of the solar system, the sun. “Sol” is a little over half an hour in length and was created using electric guitar as the melodic and tonal source. In the final production process, he digitally manipulated the guitar melodies and nestled the track within a bed of still night rain recorded from outside his window. Included with the download, is an in depth description of his inspiration behind this work. Jesse also spends a majority of his time immersed in nature taking photographs. The cover art for “Sol” is taken from his recent black and white series.

You just have to love the first bars in Herméticos runout track tinnitus. Some insite in to Hermetico´s ear state? I can imagine that the hardcore dude of InoQuo is having some ear isues. However the result of his intense musical abitons is paying of and what a leep forward! If this guy was great befor than now his tracks are on the moon. One wonders how long his tracks will be for free? Lets hope to people behind Inoquo label will hold on to there political belews and keep this label free for us to download.

I’ve been stuck with the flu for a whole week and after listening to this record I might just be sick for another one. In short, the songs seems to be numered by the motto ”save the best for last”. It starts off with a provocatively amateurish sound, followed by an experimental song draining the very less energy left in my body and soul. Only psydo-intellectuals would (lie) saying they enjoy such a dysfunctional song where absolute nothing fits with the other. Auftrag, danke! This is not an increadible talented jazz-musician jaming away, this is just someone haveing fun discovering ableton. Its nice with strange and unexpected elements in a song but there need to be some pieces layed in the puzzle to make any sense. Whatever, the song gave me an headake and thats really just it. I hardly remember song no3 but I know it was better then other the two mentioned above. THIS IS ALL YOU NEED TO READ: if you wanna listen to this record go straight to the last track Solstice72 to avoid frustration, nausea and apathy.

I must say February has not been the best of months so far there is only two album worth looking in to, and its Game Over by Josh Winiberg and the vv.aa. album big brother of dub under deepindum.org label (reviewed by msRussia). Game Over with my favourite track "They Walk Among Us" is an good album and Josh proves his skills. However like I started out,.. not much to get exited about. I would like throw you an link to netwaves.org a great site for your netlabelism. I strongly recommend you get there podcast. This show is all about netlabels and it gets aired in Belgium and you can listen to it live Thursdays at 22-01 gtm +1

DID038 – BIG BROTHERS OF DUB

The album is well-produced, and consists of three most comfortable songs with a positive mysterious sound. Comfortable almost sounds like nice and the expectation then might be that this album is booring. Thats not the case. Its made by really good musicians and it fits in many situations; in the tub, painting those walls with your love as well as dancing at the club. Or in this case more accurate would be, drinking beer at the bar. The songs never takes off and thats its achillesheel, nothing really happens. There isnt anything that just for a short while surprises me or takes me away from the straight line. So perfect album to put on when something else is in focus. Although heads up for irresistible drop that in the very beginning captures me with its female voice and hectic tictictic and make me wanna chase something fun and interesting. Is that a jungle? Definitly worth Ipod-space.

Russion label Deep-X With Chokko -Lets move to Berlin e.p has tree tracks "Haribo", "Sharik", and "More". All based on the same core - "Haribo" being the basics, "Sharik adding some vocals and some faster moving hats and maybe some more minor changes. Last out "More" gives you a full fledge track with pads, keys and more. I must say this makes sense to me. Giving us option what we like - Vocals, more sound or just basic strait core minimal techno. Deep-x is making an move for label of the month February, however a little soon to tell.

New release out by non other then Krzho - a new artist at clear cuts.
A strictly minimal e.p, the sound that makes our genitals vibrate. This album is pure and sweet, nothing fancy, just minimal techno at its best. Included in this e.p is four tracks "dreamless", "sandbox", "unknown territory", "playing tool". "dreamless" is a beautiful bas driven track. "sandbox" has some nice dub influences but is missing some deep bas - but what it may lacs in bas it makes up for with percussions and nice reverb/delayed hits. "unknown territory" takes you back to that basic minimal stuff, deep bas and bleepy groove, just plain strait - I am loving it! "playing tool" drives to house, and my favourite kind of house - the one where you wonder if the track is skipping =).... muhhaaahaha.

sandbox e.p is a strict minimal album, nothing radical, just plain minimal techno. Everything moves synchronised perfect in its own, if one should complain it might be the lack of experimenting. But this album is rock solid and will be featured in my liveacts to come.

alessandro crimi – changements
The German net.label Broque has an new release out by non the less than alessandro crimi with the e.p. changements. Broque focuses on releasing electronic music that you can dance to and some experimental stuff from the community of "Oder auf Brot".Besides mp3 Broque have some releases on vinyl and cd.

Alessandro brings you an ep that's both calming and soothing, minimalistic beeps and groove. The e.p welcomes you with the first track "Selun". Running at the extreme low speed 120 bpm the first thing you get to know is the thumbing drum that sounds a bit quern, and then after a few bars of welcoming hats and delays, and a bas smoothing driving over 4/4 time signature. The main event of the entire track is reverberant ambient gently seeping over its main core, welcomed on my part.
Second track out "Machines" feels slightly faster (still 120bpm) due to its more driven bas, this time over 2/4 signature and thereby lends its self more to the club side. This track is a dub track with those distinctive dub sounds.
Third up is "Ty" a house track that also gives you an faster feeling (still 120) but this time due to the faster sounding hats.
forth track "Kids" is an distinctive minimal track with these clave´s representing the groove, however still keeping it real with those ambient reverberation. One of my favourite tracks on this e.p due to the vary nature of the sound. This track will becoming up on my February releases liveact, so keep an ear out for this one!
Final track alaska is a more experimental track giving you some of that triphop beats. An good track however not for your dancefloor. Making that notion, that's all being written about it.

alessandro crimi and his e.p changements is all in all a good release that you should get your hands on. Interesting note that different time signature and composing can make tunes appear faster and slower.

Orbits Decaying - Isomer Transition [Arch057]
This next release comes from archipel. Its a little late since the release was January the 5th. However late this article, I will use some of its tracks during my Feb mix session and is an release to checkout. Track listing includes the tracks Give Me Your Hand, Hot Salsa, Parametric Pressure, Landing Near The Center, and Searching For Clues. "Hot Salsa" and "Parametric Pressure" brings you your favourite low end frequencies. While "Searching For Clues" gives you that acid crawl witch is why I am not using it, I have never been an fan of acid sounds. But if you are in to that you will most likely find what you want here..
At the moment of writing this article all but the track Searching for Clues are included in my try-outs for my next session. Archipel is an hybrid net.labe since it only releases some of its music for free. Archipel is an steady label to count on and is one of the best out there. Go to there Archipel web page and check them out, it will be worth your time.

Systemton - in the neighbourhood - [inoQuo 051]
I can´t tell you how happy I am to wake up today and find one of my favourite net.label has an new release. And I am happy to tell you that inoQuo is not letting us down! Systemton, two guys from Hessen, Germany, releases two tracks on inoQuo along with two remixes from the best of InoQuo, Sr.click and Hermético. First up is dog eats dog, an breath-taking track with our favoured pounding bas and some spooky pads moving swirling around its base, moving at an 130 bpm perfect for your club sessions. Second out is lawn sprinkler memories. A little slower track at 124 bpm, you might want to use this track as an build up and push the bpm up as an effect. However, I would not do that until last 30 sec before mixdown (as the track is hurting from speeding up over the 127 threshold).
That Hermético takes care of dog eats dog is logical, after all he is the number one kick pusher of InoQuo. Hermético literally (audorally) kicks the track up an notch adding more fx´s to it. He gives a nice reverbed fx that keeps in the background and gives the track more air and move.
Sr.Click.., what can I say!? Ohh my god! Takes in a buildup track and basically shits out the other end of his earlobe an track with a real groove to it. Because of the groove now implemented you can now speed this track up and use it in your sessions, however in higher speeds the track goes back to being an build-up track.

Systemton - in the neighbourhood is a must for all you minimal lovers out there. 5/5 stars

Bmind - Uncommon Things EP [Tranz027]
Released under Tranzmitter Netlabel, bmind ep claims to have an minimal techno track in its release, however to my great dissatisfaction there is no such track in here. This release includes the tree files Onomatopeia, Da Horta, Uncommon Things (Acoutisc Bonus Take). Onomatopeia is suppose to be the minimal release, but the people at Tranzmitter clearly have no knowledge of this distinguished sound and I must say that there believe that minimal is just an toss of a fiew sounds together and that you could claim anything to be it makes my discussed. This was my first and last review of this label, after all this is not an minimal techno label.

This Electronicaesque composed of fine cut Ambient sound imagery and IDM and Minimal House grooves does not require a huge philosophical backdrop behind each and every sonic transient. Under typical music-industrial circumstances four gloomy tracks named after Mesopotamian deities might have conjured up a lot of interpretations. But in this case we may just let the pictures arise in our audio-visual cortex without too much higher brain activity.
Though there is still some space for a little bit of brain juggling. For Danny himself 'Mount Nada' - as the EP’s title is pronounced correctly - plays with a little paradox: What exactly is a 'Mountain Of Nothing'?
